WhatsApp may allow users to add Facebook-like cover photo to profile

Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp plans to add a new Facebook-like cover image.

The feature was recently spotted by WhatsApp dev tracker WABetaInfo.

“When the feature is enabled for beta testers, there will be changes to your business profile settings,” WABetaInfo said.

According to the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is planning to introduce a camera button in the user’s work settings. In this, users can select a photo or take a new one as the cover photo.

When another user from the contact list visits your business profile, they will be able to see your new cover photo along with the profile photo and status.

The ability to set cover photos is currently in development for WhatsApp Business accounts.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also working on releasing the “Community” feature in a future update.

Community is a private place where group admins will have more control over certain groups on WhatsApp.

The report says WhatsApp community is like a group chat and group admins can link other groups in the community.
