However, MI made a solid response with their openers laying down a solid foundation with a 95-run partnership.

SRH fought back with three wickets from Umran Malik before stopping MI from chasing the target for a three-point win.
Here is an overview of the main talking points of the meeting
Kane Williamson is going through a horror of an IPL season. He averages under 20 and also has a low strike rate under 100. This is when he opened the innings for SRH. Two of his peers – Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli – also openers for their respective franchises – have had a similar campaign. On Tuesday, Williamson dropped down the batting order and gave a young Priyam Garg – playing his first game of the season – a chance to open the innings. It turned out to be a wise move with the youngster belting four fours and two sixes in his 26 ball 42. In fact, Williamson came on at bat at No. 6 which was apparently due to the game situation as SRH had need a power hitter. rather than an accumulator to provide late blooming. Will the pattern continue?

Put it in the colors of India. It’s been the clarion call every time Rahul Tripathi hits a sumptuous four or a six. The SRH hitter gave India selectors another sweet reminder of his immense skill with an excellent 76-44 ball against Mumbai Indians. He played shots all over the park. When he was full, he threw them high into the stands – a 104 meter wide six being the longest shot of his innings. When it was short, it cleverly guided them on a short, slender leg on all fours. When he was completely on the outside, he ran the ball backwards for four years. It was his third fifty from third place — the most of any batter while batting at position this season so far. This fact alone indicates how crucial he was for SRH. Will he finally be rewarded with a summons to India?

Rohit of yesteryear
Rohit has been terribly out of form this season. It’s a strange coincidence that three of the modern day greats – Williamson, Rohit and Kohli – are fighting in IPL 2022 at the same time. None were able to produce anything close to their best. Kohli raised hope with a toiling fifty, but it turned out to be a false alarm. Williamson dropped in the batting order to allow others to flourish. Rohit finally showed glimpses of him returning to his best against SRH. The MI captain took his time – consumed nine deliveries for 2 runs before opening with a longer six. And once he broke free, the boundaries started to flow. He hit two fours and four sixes to reach 48 and looked set to end his wait for a fifty this IPL before finishing with the same score – his best of the season so far. It took 36 deliveries to achieve this.
Calm after the storm
The game appeared to be headed for SRH when the 17th started. T Natarajan, one of the best death bowlers, received the ball. MI needed 45 out of 15. But they still had Tim David. And boy did SRH fans get scared. Natarajan tried out for the Yorkers. He missed four times. All four times he ended up throwing full pitches. David summarily rejected all these gifts over the border for four sixes. 26 points came from the first five deliveries of the plus, including two extras via wides. On the sixth delivery, David was knocked out after a mix-up with his batting partner.
MI now needed 19 from 15 with four wickets remaining. They lacked specialized hitters, but the equation was rather in their favor. In came Bhuvneshwar Kumar and unlike Natarajan, the seasoned campaigner nailed his yorkers. He hit with the first delivery of the 18th over and followed that up with five point balls in a row. A girl at the counter. And SRH took control.
