This image of a snake hiding in plain sight has the internet baffled. Can you spot it?

Apparently, the snake in the photo is a copper-headed snake known as the master of camouflage.

The snake has integrated itself impressively into the surroundings using the intricate pattern of its body.

Nature has given animals incredible abilities to help them survive in the wild. These abilities are most evident in smaller creatures and reptiles that must defend themselves against larger predators. Showcasing one of these characteristics of a creature, an image has been doing the rounds of the internet while leaving netizens perplexed. A Reddit user shared a photo of a forest patch covered in dry leaves and claimed that a snake was hiding there.

If you weren’t able to spot the reptile, don’t worry because most people couldn’t. But, let’s say there is a snake in the picture. The snake has integrated itself impressively into the surroundings using the intricate pattern of its body. Also, the brown color of dry leaves and soil further helps the snake hide in plain sight.

If you’re still having trouble spotting it, try looking at the center of the image. You will notice the snake coiled up and surrounded by leaves. Just like you, many Reddit users were left baffled by the mysterious image and failed to focus their eyes on the elusive snake. “Yeah, I don’t see it either,” wrote one user while another eagle-eyed user was able to spot the snake and left clues to help others find it. “Look to the left of the light green leaf in the center of the image,” the user wrote.

Apparently, the snake in the photo is a copper-headed snake known as the master of camouflage. Due to their earthy coloration, these snakes blend more easily into the environment, as seen in the photo.

Although they are poisonous, experts say copperheads are not dangerous until provoked. They are generally nocturnal and prefer to hide in cool, uncrowded places. Their diet consists mainly of rodents, frogs and lizards.
