Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Fan Craft Starter Paper Figures
A creative Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan crafts three adorable paper figures of the new game’s starter trio, Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly.
The announcement of pokemon scarlet and Purple led to a wave of creativity sweeping the already notoriously prolific Pokemon fandom. With the release of the drawings of the new starting trio, many fans are trying their hand at paying homage to Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly. Now a pokemon scarlet and Purple fan assembled intricate paper figures of the new entrants.
Paper art takes many forms around the world, from scrapbooking to papercraft to origami. This is not the first time that a Pokemon fan has created some awesome 3D paper art featuring some of the cute, cool, and sometimes creepy creatures from the franchise, but this might just be one of the most adorable.
Redditor CrafterWong shared a photo of the simplified 3D paper versions they made of Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Each figure features a small body, large head, and stocky limbs to evoke the chibi aesthetic of the classic game. Pokemon chart. The result is three adorable freestanding sculptures that manage to incorporate a surprising level of detail despite being made entirely of paper. Each figure features a number of printed details, but the Pokémon’s shape is created through clever folding techniques.
CrafterWong is very talented, but they seem to have taken some creative liberties with the designs of this starter trio. In the photo a small Sprigatito is shown with straight fluff to account for the fact that the paper does not tend to fold properly. Fuecoco’s silhouette is so focused on its head that the Pokemon’s feet seem to have disappeared completely, though fans may find that doesn’t affect the creature’s cuteness much. Meanwhile, Quaxly’s design appears to have been simplified until it’s just a white duck wearing what appears to be a blue sailor hat.
Despite the changes, CrafterWong’s work seems to have been warmly received by fellow fans. One of the reasons for this may be that the artist added a link to his website, where he had uploaded the model and 3D models for these projects. This means that the person concerned Pokemon fans can simply create their own paper figures of Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly. Several fans also noted that the decision to make the figures look like low-res polygon models was a good decision, as it apparently adds a stylized touch to the designs. It also probably makes it easier to capture round Pokémon shapes in paper art.
pokemon scarlet and Purple should be released at the end of 2022 for Switch.
