“Kiwi shoppers deserve a premier online shopping experience for kitchens”; The retailer’s new online 3D design planner makes buying a complete home kitchen quick, easy, and fun.

Auckland, New Zealand, November 11, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Today PlaceMakers, that of New Zealand leading supplier of building materials and hardware, announced the launch of a new 3D kitchen planner, powered by the Marxent 3D Cloud. PlaceMakers’ all new 3D Design Planner allows customers to drag and drop products directly from inspiring 2D photos into a 3D floor plan. This initiative is part of the company’s commitment to provide simple online tools that make it easier for builders and owners to choose. Consumers and professionals can access PlaceMakers 3D Design Planner from a single online application. It will also be used at PlaceMakers retail stores for in-person design appointments.

“When we were ready to improve our kitchen and bathroom experience, Marxent delivered quickly and with great service.”

The new Marxent 3D Cloud app bridges the gap between inspiration, design and purchase. It also allows customers, builders and branch consultants to collaborate on designs. PlaceMakers’ 3D Design Planner is browser-based, integrates with their existing corporate quoting system, is easy to learn, and eliminates the complexity typically associated with kitchen construction projects. Offering a new level of design customization, it offers more than 10,000 product references, including a full line of cabinet fronts, finishes, hardware, countertops, sinks and faucets, murals and flooring options. The company plans to add a bathroom, laundry room and closet setup in the coming months.

“Kiwi buyers deserve a top-notch online kitchen design experience,” said Ruth brash, general manager of merchandise for PlaceMakers. “Today’s shoppers are banking on being able to try out different products before committing to a design. They want to visualize their material selections without having to know the entire catalog or take special training,” Brash said.

“PlaceMakers’ 3D Design Planner is fully visual, providing a fun, quick and easy kitchen design process for online and in-store owners as well as builders,” she said.

Using Marxent’s patented Design from Photo technology and a guided design process, the new Room Planner guides consumers through design inspiration culminating in an in-store or virtual planning appointment.

The design begins with inspiring 3D pieces with fresh and trendy colors like Storm and Fog or Cinnamon Ash; with pre-sized model parts that can be modified; or by drawing a floor plan with custom dimensions. Customers can design directly from inspirational photos, play with cabinet layout and door styles, wall colors, flooring, and more.

Once the design is complete, the customer then clicks a button to send the design to a consultant in the branch. The consultant works closely with the client to confirm details, then clicks a button to enter the order directly into the PlaceMakers corporate order and quote system.

“PlaceMakers strives to use innovation to facilitate new home construction and home improvement projects for our customers,” said Brash. “When we were ready to improve our kitchen and bathroom experience to align with customer expectations, Marxent delivered quickly and with great customer service. They took us from contract to launch in just 12 weeks. “she said.
