MLB trade deadline: Braves-Marlins deal could land real Ronald Acuña replacement
New Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields went above and beyond to surprise a fan who was fighting for his life last month.
Rookie quarterback Justin Fields hasn’t even played against the Chicago Bears yet and he’s already become a fan favorite of The Windy City. Take his latest shot for example, which is sure to warm hearts everywhere.
It turns out that a Chicago fan was shot in the back last month and was in hospital fighting for his life. He has told his family and friends that he has to be successful in order to watch Fields dress for Chicago. Fields found out and decided to visit him. Just awesome.
Justin Fields visiting a Bears fan who almost lost his life is incredibly special
That smile on the fan’s face says it all. You can tell that this moment meant the world to him. Barely a month ago, it looked like he wasn’t going to make it. Now he’s alive to tell his story and even has a new Fields jersey to boot. It was a moment he will never forget.
As for Fields, you have to give it credit here. Again, he hasn’t even played in a game for his new team, but he’s doing everything he can to make an impact in the community. He could have just heard about this fan and ignored it.
Instead, he took time out of his incredibly busy schedule to meet him, hook the fan up with a jersey, and snap a picture. Come this fall, everyone will be ready to cheer on Fields the second he hands over the offense. This fan who has been shot will be screaming the loudest when he gets to Soldier Field, there’s no doubt about it.
