Child Care Home Worker Uploads Vile Child Abuse Images From The Internet

A Birmingham-based child home worker uploaded vile images of child abuse to the web.

Thomas Adams, 25, reportedly had a relationship with a former resident, a 15-year-old girl, reports The Liverpool ECHO.

Officers attended her address in Pwllglas, Ruthin in North Wales and discovered she was there and he was arrested and her phone was seized.

Cops discovered that it contained 310 images of children between the ages of five and 11 in the three severity categories created between March 2018 and February of last year.

When questioned after his arrest on February 19 last year, Adams admitted to downloading pornographic images of children and people over the age of 18 and said he used the Tumblr app.

He admitted to downloading some while working as a babysitter.

He also confessed to taking the screenshot of the 15-year-old during an online chat, said Andrew McInnes, prosecuting.

In an impact statement, the young girl said she was unaware he took the photo and was upset about it.

Adams, 25, of Erdington, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to three offenses of making indecent images and three offenses of possession of indecent images.

Defending David Birrell said the girl told him she was 16 and he believed it was true.

He had only taken one screenshot of her in February of last year and it had been duplicated on his phone.

Liverpool Crown Court has learned that Adams had researched the internet on the age of consent between a 16-year-old girl and a 23-year-old man, which is why he had not been charged with any offense involving the girl.

The indecent images of the Internet included 64 in the most serious category.

Mr BIrrell said: “He is still a young man. The author of the PSR points out that he is still emotionally immature and it follows that at the age of 22 he was even less mature. “

Adams, who has no previous convictions, now lives with his supportive parents and works as a driver in the construction industry.

He no longer wishes to work with children, Mr Birrell said.

His parents describe him as “kind, honest, respectful, considerate and caring”.

Judge David Potter said: “At the time you were employed as a home help and your job brought you in constant contact with vulnerable children and with whom after she left the facility you bonded. a relationship.

“I do not accept that you have no interest in indecent images of children. The terms entered into the search browser suggest otherwise. You remain in denial to some extent.”

Judge Potter said Adams had lost his responsible post and was now banned from working with children indefinitely.

He imposed a 16-month prison sentence but decided that, since there was a realistic prospect of rehabilitation, he would suspend her for two years.

He also ordered her to perform 150 hours of unpaid work, 20 days of rehabilitation activities and to participate in a sex offender program. He imposed a ten-year Sexual Injury Prevention Order and ordered her to sign the Sex Offender Register for the same length of time.
