Following Blac Chynais separated from Rob Kardashianthe model has had its ups and downs with her ex and her famous family, including a years-long legal battle.
Chyna and Kardashian initially confirmed their relationship in January 2016. The couple got engaged after three months of dating and announced they were expecting their first child together. Their relationship was documented for their E! reality series, Rob and Chynafrom September to December 2016.
Following the show’s renewal for a second season, the sock designer took to social media to announce the couple’s split. Amid the on-and-off relationship, E! Told Variety this production on Rob and Chyna would be put “on hold” in July 2017. The network noted that the spin-off had “not been in production for several months” as they plan to “follow the [Kardashian] family advance” on what to do next.
Later that year, Chyna sued the Kardashians for allegedly interfering with the future of her reality show. The rapper’s attorney, Lynne Ciani, then gave an update on Chyna’s plans to continue the legal battle.
“Blac Chyna will seek millions in compensatory and punitive damages from Chris [Jenner], Kim [Kardashian], Khloe [Kardashian]and Kylie [Jenner] for defamation, willful interference with a contract, and willful interference with a potential economic advantage,” Ciani said in a statement to We Weekly in October 2020. “Chyna is beyond excited to have her day in court.”
At the time, the attorney claimed that Chyna’s reality TV career had been “permanent” because of the Kardashian family.
Two months later, a judge ordered the production company behind Rob and ChynaBunim/Murray Production, to hand over all unaired footage that was shot for Season 2.
Chyna and Rob’s relationship made headlines again in March 2022 when the singer claimed she was not receiving any child support. “Yesterday I had to give up 3 of my cars…my reasons…morals, beliefs, being a single mom, no support, I’m a MAMA,” Chyna, who shares daughter Dream with Rob and his son King with his ex Tygatweeted at the time.
Rob, for his past, pointed out that he had his daughter from Tuesday to Saturday while questioning his ex-fiancée’s claims. “[I] paying 37,000 a year for my daughter’s school,” the California native wrote in an Instagram comment via Shade Room. “I take care of all the medical expenses. I pay for all his extracurricular activities. Why should I pay child support? Lol.”
Less than a week later, Chyna gave an update on her plans to sue the Kardashian family.
“I am so grateful that a jury is finally hearing what really happened behind closed doors – the lies that were told and the damage that was done,” she tweeted in April 2022. “At the end of the trial, I will be able to proudly tell King and Dream that I have done everything I could to right the wrong that was done to me. And that in life I hope they’ll be able to defend themselves when it matters too.
