Being taken seriously at 18 with Denmark’s response to Richard Branson

Oscar Nihrane isn’t quite your average web consultant. What sets him apart from the multitude of businessmen established in a city like Copenhagen is his surprisingly young age of 18 and the short time it took him to get things done as a teenager and get things done. her brand.

Its business, which helps businesses make their websites more attractive and responsive to both contemporary customer needs and their individual business models, emerged in March 2020 when COVID-19 took hold in societal life.

When the pandemic struck and restrictions forced most of us to work from the dining table or in comparable makeshift settings at home, students at efterskole, the Danish equivalent of boarding school, were fired. with their parents.

However, online lessons and homework did not adequately fill the extra time Oscar suddenly had.

Programmed to be successful
“Before the pandemic, I remember getting more and more upset about counting the hours lost at school; sitting in class wasn’t really for me. Especially since the way we learn is not the most efficient in terms of time, ”Nihrane recalled.

“And while I was really interested in learning about history and chemistry, I really enjoyed taking the distance learning courses.”

Working with his parents, Nihrane was finally able to devote more time to an apprenticeship program he had recently purchased.

Under the patronage of its American founder Tai Lopez, millionaire and jack of all trades, the program taught Nihrane everything he needed to know to start a business with little to no money or experience.

“I like Lopez’s proactive approach to life. Whatever you want, you have to work for it, ”he said enthusiastically.

A second online program duly followed, which was not so much focused on preaching the right mindset but rather on the business itself, and an idea began to materialize in Nihrane’s mind: the web design.

Scale the Mt. bureaucracy
It turns out that starting a business at the age of 16 comes with a lot of bureaucracy and waiting times. Nihrane spent four months waiting for final approval from the Danish authorities to start his business.

As he walked past the bureaucratic guards, Nihrane had to present a business plan and fill out questionnaires.

“I am very proud to have finally been allowed to start my business. A friend of mine underwent the same procedure and was refused, ”he added.

During this time he was busy doing business.

“I had clients before officially launching my business. I would contact businesses through LinkedIn and ask them if they would like to get some help with their websites eventually. It turned out to be very effective and people were, in fact, interested in my advice, ”he said.

Age: the first frontier
Age was less of a barrier when it came to dealing with companies.

“I don’t tell my clients my age, but they don’t even ask me anyway. At the end of the day, it’s not a question of age but of skill, and I’ve found my own way of expressing myself and how businesses can benefit from me, ”he said.

“They didn’t even care how old I was. Although an ongoing business breaker was that I didn’t have my own business but only my private bank account. Obviously, this is not very professional.

Entrepreneur DNA
Nihrane wakes up early every day: at 4:00 a.m. to be precise.

“I like to get ahead of my daily tasks. And I have several. I go to school, then I have my things, a workout routine and my family and friends to catch up, ”he said.

Nevertheless, despite its success, this venture is only one step up the ladder for Nihrane.

” Do not mistake yourself. I love to work with web design. But what I love even more is to keep learning and improving. At the end of the day, I just want to afford a good lifestyle, and I believe you have to work hard for it.

That settles the question of why he wakes up at 4:00 am every day then!

The stutterer’s road to success
Now 18, he prefers to keep business discussions outside the family circle. It’s not rooted in mistrust or fear of being seen as arrogant, but rather a matter of good timing.

Needless to say, Nihrane has a strong work ethic and a well-tuned mindset that comes with an ever-increasing self-awareness.

But it has not always been so. Nihrane remembers an intimate dinner where he and four other members of his family celebrated his mother’s birthday. Talking out loud made him stutter and feel uncomfortable.

At this point, he wouldn’t have thought he would pitch his ideas to successful CEOs a few years later.
